GLOSSOP BOOKFEST ran a local junior schools’ poetry competition during the Christmas term on the theme of Trains and Travelling. Paul Marsh, who creates inspired content for our poetry displays, has presented a selection of these poems for our current Poetry Platform display. This is the first of two editions; a second collection will be published for display during February. We hope you enjoy them!
We are delighted to announce we have been shortlisted once again at PLATINUM level in the 2026 Community Rail Network national rail awards in the It’s Your Station category. There will be an Awards Evening in Derby on March 19th.
ADVANCE NOTICE: Manchester Piccadilly Station will be CLOSED from 14th February 2026 for NINE days due to engineering works. There will be no through services from Glossop and many other services will be affected. It is envisaged there will be a rail service to/from Guide Bridge with onward bus connections. More details can be found at NETWORK RAIL and we will be publish more details here when they become available.
