ALTHOUGH the film of The Railway Children is associated with the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, EM Nesbit's book was actually set in and around Strines near Marple. Extensive local research has been carried out to identify buildings that were the inspiration behind this much loved story. Pictures of these locations can be viewed at Strines Station.
